Android, Kotlin, and the work behind the app

I’m Shreyansh Lodha, also known as Static Var(iable). I’ve been building Android software since 2019, and I’m a Staff Engineer at Mutual Mobile | A Grid Dynamics Company.

I work hands-on with Jetpack Compose, Kotlin Multiplatform, and API design. I care about how these choices hold up in a real codebase, how an app behaves on a device, and how easily the next engineer can change it.

AI is part of nearly every step of my development process. I use it to research ideas, explore architecture, write code, investigate bugs, build tests, review changes, and document what ships. I make the engineering decisions and verify the result in the code and the running product.

I write, speak, and teach about what I learn along the way. Android and Kotlin communities are where I share practical examples, discuss tradeoffs, and learn how other engineers approach the same problems.
